Out-of-Towners

Monday night is trash night. That’s the one night you are supposed to put your trash out. We have been pretty lazy about it. Most times they don’t come till way after Scott goes to work at 7am. That gives me time to wake up and pull it out for the trash man. A few weeks ago I wake up at 6:40am to the sound of the trash crew (in this complex it take six plus trash men to follow the truck to fling trash in) right outside me window. I did the 40 yard dash to run after the trash truck. I was a pretty funny sight although I was really thankful about sleeping in my clothes that night.

Fall is here and the temp is dropping. In the evenings it’s getting down into the low 60’s. Going out to run an errand I grab my winter coat. When I get to the store you should have seen the looks, like I was drop right out of a space ship. The locals were still wearing shorts and Ts. The message come through loud and clear, I have no idea what cold is. YIKES!

Vickie says, This reminds me of a anecodote in the Readers'Digest. A woman heard the garbage truck, so she grabbed the trash and ran out in her hair rollers and house coat. She ran to the the truck and asked, "Am I too late?" The guy answered, "No, lady, jump right in!"

We have chilly weather in Ely, so I can relate. It took me last winter to adjust, so I should be fine this year. I now have the bonus of not working, so I won't have to go outside on truly yucky days when all you want is to snuggle up under your down comforter.

Just wait until the snow flies, then you'll be in for it.
